Guide
A private, offline workout tracker for iPhone, with no account
marble keeps your training on your iPhone or iPad. There is no sign-up, no marble account or server, no ads and no third-party tracking. Logging, parsing and analysis all work offline, and you keep your own copy with a JSON backup.
What “private” means here
- No account. You open the app and start logging. There is no email, password or profile.
- No marble server. Your sets, sessions, supplements, weigh-ins and plans are stored on the device.
- No ads or third-party tracking in the app.
- Analysis runs on the device. Estimated 1RM trends, records, the monthly report and Daily Highlights are all calculated from your own sets on the iPhone.
- Parsing runs on the device too. Typed and pasted workouts, CSV files and scanned pages are read locally. When Apple Intelligence structures a sentence, it does that on device as well.
Set it up
- Install marble from the App Store. It’s free and has nothing to unlock.
- Open it. There’s no sign-up step, only a short onboarding.
- Log. Add a workout in your own words, or log set by set in Log. None of this needs a connection.
- Decide about Apple Health. It’s off until you connect it. You can import workouts and bodyweight, or send completed sessions to Health, or do neither.
- Make a backup. In Settings, open Data & Backups and tap Export Marble Backup. Save the JSON file wherever you like.
Backups and moving to a new phone
The backup file includes exercises, sets, supplements, workout sessions, weigh-ins and your split. To restore, use Restore From Backup in the same screen. A restore adds missing data without deleting anything. If a restore fails, it leaves no partial changes behind.
Progress photos and videos stay on the device. They aren’t included in backup files.
The trade-offs
- No automatic sync. marble doesn’t sync between devices. To move your history, export a backup and restore it on the other device.
- Your copy is your responsibility. With no server, there’s no copy held by marble. Export a backup from time to time.
- Optional connections are yours to choose. If you connect Apple Health, the data you send there is governed by Apple Health.
- This website is different from the app. marble-fit.app uses anonymous, aggregated Vercel Analytics. The app does not.
If marble ever can’t open its saved data, it keeps the original files and offers a retry and a recovery copy instead of quietly opening an empty journal.
