Features
Everything marble does.
marble is a private workout journal for iPhone and iPad. It has three tabs, Add, Log and Progress, and connects to iOS and Apple Health where it helps. It’s free, with no account and no ads.
Add
Write it your way. Review, then save.
Add is where workouts come in: typed, pasted, imported or scanned. Nothing is logged until you’ve reviewed it.
-
Paste or type in your own words
Write gym notation like
Squat 5x5 @ 225orBench 3x8 @ 185 rest 90s, or paste a note as it is. A live preview shows each exercise and its set count as you type. -
On-device parsing
Notation and files are read by a deterministic parser on every device. Apple Intelligence structures free-form prose on device when it’s available.
-
Multi-day Notes
Paste a week at once. Lines that are only a date, a weekday or a label like
Day 1split it into separate workouts. -
Hevy and Strong CSV
Choose one or more
.csvor.txtexports. Warm-ups are skipped, while RPE, notes, failure sets and session times come across. -
Review before saving
Check every workout, exercise match, set, date, RPE, rest and note. Weak name matches default to a new exercise instead of merging into the wrong one.
-
Drafts that wait for you
An unfinished review is kept across relaunches, and you can resume it with your edits, dates and matches intact.
-
Scan handwritten pages
Photograph every page of a training notebook. Text recognition runs on device, and a dated week is split into workouts for review.
-
History and repeat
Search completed sessions by workout or exercise, filter by date and review every set. Repeat a session as an editable draft, and nothing is logged until you confirm.
-
Shortcuts handoff
Shortcuts can send text straight to Add. If a draft is already open, you choose whether to add to it, replace it or keep it.
Log
Log without losing your flow.
Record weight, reps, distance, time, RPE, rest and notes, with each exercise showing only the fields it needs.
-
Fast set logging
The Log Set sheet shows what you did last time and your personal best before you enter anything.
-
Log Again
Repeat your last set with one tap from the Log Again card.
-
Save + Next
Save a set and stay in the sheet for the next one.
-
Personal-record cues
See the record to beat while you enter a set, and get a New PR cue the moment you pass it.
-
Workout sessions
Start a focused session, log into it and finish it. Every set still lands in your journal.
-
Weekly split
Build a weekly split so each training day has a plan.
-
Sprints to the tenth
Build reusable sprint plans with a distance, a rep count and a target time or range. Time reps with the stopwatch or type a decimal, then see every rep, your best and your average.
-
Rest timer
An in-app timer with a Live Activity, Dynamic Island controls to add 30 seconds or end early, and a rest-complete alert.
-
Supplements
Log creatine, protein and other daily habits alongside your training.
-
Calendar
A month view with training-day markers, day detail, streaks, and progress photos and videos.
-
Exercise library
Search, favourite, create and safely edit exercises, each with its own emoji or SF Symbol icon.
Progress
Clear progress, computed on your phone.
The overview shows your top lifts. Open Details for goals, charts, records and reports, all calculated from your own logged sets.
-
Top exercises
Up to five of your most-logged weighted exercises, each with its personal-record weight and the date you set it.
-
Estimated 1RM verdicts
Each lift gets an estimated 1RM trend and a plain verdict: progressing, holding or adapted. Comparisons are made at matched effort.
-
PR feed and rep records
A feed of your real personal records, plus your best weight at every rep count for each exercise.
-
Progression hints
When every set tops 8 reps at the same load and a manageable effort, marble suggests the next load and shows its evidence.
-
Weekly goal and flex weeks
Set a sessions-per-week target. Hit it four weeks in a row to bank a flex week that covers one missed week.
-
Monthly report
Sessions, volume and records, compared fairly with the same point last month, with short insights written on the device.
-
Muscle coverage
Weekly hard sets per muscle group, measured against the 10–20 set guide.
-
Bodyweight and DOTS
Log bodyweight or import it from Apple Health, correct a weigh-in that was wrong, and compare each lift to your bodyweight with a DOTS score.
-
Daily Highlights
A private evening recap of that day’s truthful progress, on days you train. It appears from 8:00 PM by default, and you can change the window.

An honest limit
Apple Health carries workout summaries, not per-set weight and reps. Sets and reps are logged in marble.
Privacy and data
Your training stays yours.
There’s no account, no marble server, no ads and no third-party tracking in the app. Your core data stays on your iPhone or iPad.
-
On device
Parsing, analysis and storage all happen on the device and keep working offline.
-
JSON backup and restore
Export a portable backup of your exercises, sets, supplements, sessions, weigh-ins and split. A restore adds missing data without deleting anything, and a failed restore leaves no partial changes.
-
Photos stay local
Progress photos and videos stay on the device and aren’t included in backup files.
-
Careful recovery
If saved workouts can’t open, marble keeps the original files and offers retry and recovery-copy options.
-
Free
Every feature, with no subscription and nothing to unlock.
