How to log workouts from Apple Notes

Copy the note, paste it into the Add tab in marble, and review the sets it builds before you save. Gym shorthand like Bench 3x8 @ 185 is read on every device. A note that covers several days is split into separate workouts.

Steps

  1. Copy your workout from Notes. It can be one session or a whole week.
  2. Open Add in marble and paste into Paste or type your workout. As you type or paste, a live preview lists each exercise with its set count.
  3. Fix anything flagged. Lines marble can’t read yet are listed separately, not dropped. Rewrite one in standard notation, like Bench 3x8 @ 185, and it joins the workout.
  4. Review. Check each exercise match, set, date, RPE, rest and note. A multi-day note opens as a list of workouts that you can select one by one.
  5. Save. If you leave halfway, your draft is kept, and you can resume the review later with your edits intact.

EMOM 10 min: 5 burpees10 sets of 5

A few more details: 3 rounds: on its own line repeats the exercises below it. rest 3 means three minutes, while rest 90 means 90 seconds. Calf raises 4x8-10 records the lower end of the range. RPE 8, rpe9 and @RPE 8 all set effort, but a bare @ 8 is read as a weight.

Several days in one note

marble starts a new workout at a line that is only a date or a label: 3/5, March 5, Monday, Yesterday, Day 1 or Day 2: Legs.

Monday — Push
Bench 3x8 @ 185 lb
Cable fly 3x12

Wednesday — Pull
Deadlift 3x5 @ 225 lb
Pull ups 3x8

This becomes two workouts. A date on the same line as a set, like 3/5 Bench 3x8, stays a set and doesn’t start a new day. A line like “felt strong today” is kept as a note.

Limits worth knowing

  • Full sentences such as “did 4 sets of squats at 225 for 5 reps” need Apple Intelligence. When it’s available on your device, marble uses it on device to structure the prose. Without it, the line is flagged for you to rewrite in shorthand.
  • Percentages like at 85% and tempo notes like tempo 3-0-1 are ignored, not logged as weights.
  • Whatever you paste, you review it before anything is saved.
